Joe earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Utah where he studied Sports Science and Psychology. He has a Master's degree in Somatic Counseling from Naropa University. He serves on the Board of Directors of the National Alliance on Mental Illness in Boulder and Jefferson counties. He is also actively involved in the Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback, as well as the International Society for Neurofeedback Research.

Joe is a Board Certified Neurofeedback Therapist, a BCIA-approved neurofeedback mentor, and has completed his qEEG-D Didactic Training. Additional, he is working on his Board Certification in Heart Rate Variability

Joe's background features experience with culturally diverse populations of at-risk high school students where his clinical focuses included ADHD, anxiety, depression, emotional affect and regulation, sleep, trauma, and others. He is also focused on helping athletes with peak performance and recovery.

In his free time, Joe enjoys climbing, alpine and mogul skiing, skydiving, cycling and spending time with his children and his dog.
